Chad
fell in love with the cinema as a child while watching films with
his family at the drive-in theater. Thinking that being a filmmaker
was an impossible dream, Chad started his college career as a
civil engineering major. Although proficient at math, he soon
knew that his happiness would be found back in his childhood love
of movies. |
|
After
switching his major to film studies at the University of Kansas,
Chad interned on a number of local film productions during his
college down time. After graduation, Chad found work on several
high-profile films (“Mars Attacks!”) and some not-so-high-profile
films (“Em & Me”). Most importantly, he stayed
busy working in the industry he loved. |
|
However, helping other people make their films ignited Chad’s
passion in telling his own stories. His first screenwriting effort,
“The Petting Zoo” was optioned by a Hollywood producer,
although nothing ever became of it. Not easily squelched, Chad’s
drive and originality are being poured into his current writing
efforts, the screenplay “Meeting Hef” and his novel,
“Thanks for Playing…”
“Project
InSECT” has played at several film festivals including the
Kansas City Film Jubilee and Hot Shops Film Festival, winning
top honors at the latter for best documentary. It is currently
playing in the Earthdance Film Festival which travels to dozens
of locations across the nation throughout the year. “Project
InSECT” is expanding, hopefully into a feature documentary,
to incorporate Jessa and James’ trials, tribulations and
breakthroughs over the past few years. Wish us luck!
