A Black swallowtail is a butterfly that inhabits much of the Midwestern and Eastern part of the United States. They have a wing span of 3 to 3 ½ inches”. The Black swallowtail caterpillar feeds on dill, parsley, and carrot leaves and this is also the host plant in which the butterfly will lay its eggs.
