A tiger swallowtail is a butterfly that inhabits much of the Midwestern and Eastern part of the United States. They have a wing span of 4 ½ inches”. Only the males are bright marbled yellow in color as the female is mostly black. The Tiger swallowtail caterpillar feeds on ash, poplar, and cherry tree leaves and this is also the host in which the butterfly will lay its eggs.
