Overview of the
Project InSECT Live Performance and Exhibition
Large Scale Insect Paintings:
•
A minimum of 18 large original paintings from 3ft x 5ft to 9ft
x 8ft accompanied by original specimens and educational text.
(Extra paintings may be displayed at other local spaces to cross
promote the performing exhibition at hosted venue)
•
Live
performance and creation of art
Interactive
Education:
• Guided tours and talks from the
artists for visitors and special groups/guests
• Various educational displays,
unique hands on interactive activities for all ages, large insect
displays, live insect zoo, and live interaction with the artists
and educators of Project InSECT 5 days a week
• Short documentary available on a looped DVD provided
for public viewing, up to 7 days a week
Outreach
and Collaboration:
•
Additional educational programming, including free outreach
programs (Wed-Fri up to 2 schools per day), online classrooms
in collaboration with the Entomological Foundation (coming in
2006) and the Bug of the Month Art and Writing Competition
• Collaboration with local universities, research institutes,
libraries, and conservation organizations for special focus
programming
